Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyungho) will hold the ‘4th Huayangyeonhwa Beer Festival’ on the 27th at Huayangjeil Alley Market (Market President Choi Kyucheol). Huayangjeil Alley Market is a traditional market established in the early 1980s, with about 80 stores, located near Konkuk University, making it one of the markets popular among visitors in their 20s and 30s.

Accordingly, Gwangjin-gu and the Huayangjeil Market Merchants Association, under the theme of Huayangyeonhwa, meaning ‘the most beautiful and happiest moment in life,’ successfully held the beer festival again in May this year following last year. This year’s festival will be held from 5 PM to 11 PM on the 27th along the main street of Huayangjeil Alley Market. The Merchants Association will operate beer booths and offer various attractions and food for market visitors, including ▲ beer drinking contests ▲ quiz competitions ▲ prize drawings.

Dongdaemun-gu to hold Craft Beer Festival at Jungnangcheon 1st Sports Park on August 30-31

Jazz, DJ performances, musical concerts... cultural events also held on floating stage

Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pilhyung) will hold the ‘2024 Dongdaemun-gu Beer Festival, BrewBrew Brewery’ at Jungnangcheon 1st Sports Park on August 30-31.

This festival is designed as an event where visitors can enjoy various craft beers and cultural performances together. Featuring many famous domestic craft beer breweries, the festival will also include diverse performances on a floating stage, enriching the summer night atmosphere.

The festival will feature 12 well-known domestic craft beer breweries, including ‘Hwasu Brewery’ (established in 2023), known as the first generation of the domestic craft beer industry, and ‘Weizenhouse,’ representing Daejeon and Chungcheong regions. Additionally, 15 food trucks offering ‘anju’ (side dishes) that perfectly complement the diverse beer flavors will be operated.

At 7 PM, when the cool breeze from Jungnangcheon blows, cultural performances that will enhance the flavor of the beer and the happiness of festival participants will begin. The performances will take place on a floating stage above Jungnangcheon. These include ▲ jazz performances reinterpreting famous movie OSTs such as Howl’s Moving Castle and La La Land, which everyone has heard at least once ▲ DJ performances by skilled DJs active in leading domestic clubs and festivals.

In particular, the musical concert by ‘The March Company,’ composed of active musical actors from Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, offers a rare opportunity to enjoy live performances of musical masterpieces such as ‘Jekyll & Hyde,’ ‘The Little Mermaid,’ and ‘Les Mis?rables.’ The March Company’s musical is part of the ‘2024 Everyone Together with Art’ project. Lee Pilhyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, “‘BrewBrew Brewery’ will be more than just a beer festival; it will be a place of harmony where local residents can come together, communicate, and enjoy themselves.”
