Jung Jin-seok, Chief of Staff to the President, publicly proposed on the 25th the introduction of a tentative 'Rapid Passage System for Livelihood Legislation' that separates livelihood bills from political disputes for processing.

Jung made this announcement during his opening remarks at the high-level party-government meeting held at the Prime Minister's residence in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.

He said, "It has been three months since the 22nd National Assembly began, and the first regular session is just around the corner," adding, "It is a time when various concerns and expectations intersect."

He continued, "Because the past three months have passed with the absence of dialogue and compromise, which are the essence of parliamentary democracy, the public seems to be very worried," emphasizing, "In the face of rapidly changing and turbulent global challenges, the 22nd National Assembly must become a productive regular session."

Jung stated, "Last week, the first livelihood bill, the Special Act on Jeonse Fraud, passed the standing committee and is awaiting the plenary session this week," calling it "a good sign."

He added, "In the spirit of continuing the original role of the National Assembly, I have also considered the idea of creating a livelihood fast track, such as the tentative Rapid Passage System for Livelihood Legislation, which would, in principle, separate non-contentious livelihood bills from political disputes for processing each session."

Jung also expressed, "I sincerely hope that the ruling party, the People Power Party, will lead a regular session focused on the lives of the people, with an emphasis on the future rather than the past."
