Lebanon's pro-militia group Hezbollah announced that it has successfully completed the first phase of retaliation against Israel, local media including The Jerusalem Post reported on the 25th (local time).

According to the reports, Hezbollah stated through social media on the same day, "Phase 1 has been completed with perfect success," adding, "So far, more than 320 multiple rocket launchers have been fired toward enemy positions."

Earlier, Hezbollah vowed retaliation after senior commander Fouad Shukr was assassinated in an Israeli targeted airstrike at the end of last month. Israel conducted a preemptive strike on the same day, claiming that Hezbollah was preparing a large-scale attack.

Israel said it deployed around 100 fighter jets to thwart the attack. In a statement released by the Israeli military that day, it claimed, "Hezbollah attempted to strike Ben Gurion International Airport and central Israel using projectiles this morning," and "We deployed over 100 fighter jets to simultaneously target thousands of rocket launchers within Lebanon."

Meanwhile, with Israel's preemptive strike and Hezbollah's counterattack temporarily concluded, the local situation appears to be somewhat stabilizing. AFP reported that Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel, temporarily suspended flights but resumed normal operations around 7 a.m. that day.
