Israel Military's Preemptive Strike on Hezbollah... Air Raids in Lebanon

The Israeli military carried out a preemptive strike against Hezbollah, the pro-Iran armed group in Lebanon, on the 25th (local time), according to major foreign media reports. This move came amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel following the death of Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of the Palestinian armed group Hamas.

According to reports, Daniel Hagari, the chief spokesperson for the Israeli military, stated in a press release that "the Israeli military recognized that Hezbollah was preparing to launch missiles and rockets toward Israeli territory" and added, "We are striking terrorist targets in Lebanon as an act of self-defense to eliminate this threat."

Spokesperson Hagari further warned, "(Hezbollah) will soon launch rockets, missiles, and drones at Israel," urging "civilians in areas where Hezbollah operates to immediately move to safe locations for their own safety." The Israeli military also broadcasted messages in Arabic to residents of southern Lebanon, instructing them to "leave immediately to protect yourself and your family."

Shortly after Hagari's warning, some media outlets reported that air raid sirens sounded in northern Israel. Additionally, local media reported that flights to and from Tel Aviv were temporarily suspended due to security concerns.
