Gyeonggi Office of Education Holds Workshop to Successfully Host UNESCO International Forum Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education held a workshop on the 24th ahead of the 'UNESCO International Forum on the Future of Education' to be held in December.

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education held a workshop to ensure the successful hosting of the ‘2024 UNESCO International Forum on the Future of Education’ scheduled for December.


On the 24th, the Office announced on the 25th that it held the ‘Session I: Drawing the Future of Gyeonggi Education Together’ workshop with about 130 participants, including the dedicated task force (TF) for the UNESCO International Forum, managers of major Gyeonggi education policy exhibition and experience booths, and those in charge of school and educational institution visit programs.


The workshop proceeded in the following order: ▲Special lecture analyzing Gyeonggi education policies based on the UNESCO Future of Education report ▲Student participation cultural performance composition ▲Special session on Gyeonggi education ▲Exhibition and experience booths linking the UNESCO Future of Education report with Gyeonggi education policies ▲Sharing of school and educational institution (10 locations) visit programs.


Lim Tae-hee, Superintendent of Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, encouraged, saying, "The preparation and presentations on the growth and changes of Gyeonggi education, policies, educational activities, field practices, and trends raised expectations for the forum," and added, "It is certainly thanks to the efforts of the Gyeonggi education family that Gyeonggi education can be shared internationally."


He continued, "The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will do its best to promote an excellent future education model representing the Republic of Korea to the world, together with the Ministry of Education, UNESCO, and the Korean National Commission for UNESCO."


The Office of Education will co-host the UNESCO International Forum from December 2 to 4 at the Suwon Convention Center with UNESCO, the Ministry of Education, and the Korean National Commission for UNESCO. This is the first international forum based on the Future of Education report published by UNESCO in 2021, with about 1,000 participants including education ministers and vice ministers from UNESCO member countries and domestic and international education experts.
