Pre-Work Safety Inspection Meetings and Achievements Including Minister of the Interior and Safety Commendation for Safety Culture Contributions
Yongsan District Office (Mayor Park Hee-young) announced on the 25th that the Yongsan District Facilities Management Corporation under Yongsan-gu, Seoul, achieved an "Excellent" rating in the 2024 Local Public Enterprise Management Evaluation hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
This evaluation targeted the 2023 management performance of 262 local public enterprises nationwide. The corporation received the "Excellent" grade, classified as "Na" grade. This corresponds to 12th place among 42 district corporations nationwide and 8th place among 24 district corporations in Seoul. While the corporation was rated "Da" grade in last year's local public enterprise management evaluation, it was upgraded by one grade this year, significantly improving the overall ranking of Seoul's district corporations by 7 places.
The corporation explained that it focused on internal innovation, communication both internally and externally, and improving financial soundness by promoting key public policies such as local public institution innovation, responding to low birth rates and regional extinction, and improving organizational efficiency through management streamlining.
In particular, it established the TBM (Tool Box Meeting) for pre-work safety inspection meetings for the first time among district offices. Fifty-eight teams held 6,467 TBMs, establishing a self-discipline prevention system. Special safety inspections by management were conducted at all 60 business sites, improving all 240 identified risk factors. As a result of proactively practicing safety management, the number of safety accidents decreased by 49.17%.
It was the only district corporation to receive the Minister of the Interior and Safety’s Commendation for Safety Culture Contribution in 2023. Additionally, it received ministerial commendations from four major ministries, including the Ministry of Environment for contributions to forming a resource-circulating society, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for job policy contributions, and the Ministry of Health and Welfare for community development and sharing culture.
The corporation also enhanced its institutional credibility by acquiring 15 external certifications, including the international anti-corruption management standard certification (ISO37001) and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s certification as an excellent disaster reduction company. Among 25 resident-participation budget proposal projects submitted, 16 were selected as actual projects after review.
Mayor Park Hee-young stated, “Thanks to the efforts of all corporation employees, we have achieved the meaningful result of being recognized as an ‘Excellent Institution’ for the first time in eight years. We will continue to do our best to ensure the corporation grows to enhance residents’ convenience and regional development.”
