Travel Time from Dongtan Station to Government Sejong Complex: 1 Hour 15 Minutes to 1 Hour 20 Minutes
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 25th that intercity buses operating between Dongtan Station and the Sejong·Daejeon area will start running from the 1st of next month. Although high-speed trains (SRT) run between Dongtan Station, Osong Station, and Daejeon Station, there have been concerns that it is difficult to get tickets due to high demand compared to the number of trips, prompting this measure.
These intercity buses will operate four round trips daily without distinction between weekdays, weekends, and holidays. In the Dongtan→Sejong·Daejeon direction, two of the four trips are scheduled during the morning rush hour. In the Sejong·Daejeon→Dongtan direction, two trips are scheduled during the evening rush hour.
The travel time from Dongtan Station to the Government Sejong Complex is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and 20 minutes. The fare for using the intercity bus is 11,900 KRW.
The Ministry of Land will monitor the demand and boarding/alighting patterns for the Dongtan Station~Sejong·Daejeon intercity bus over the next two to three months. Based on this, the number of trips will be increased and routes adjusted if necessary.
This intercity bus will operate by adding Dongtan Station to the route of Gyeongnam Passenger Transport’s intercity buses running between Yongin and the Sejong Government Complex, Sejong, and Yuseong. The route will change from YonginTR~Giheung Station~Singal~Sejong Complex~SejongTR~YuseongTR to YonginTR~Giheung Station~Singal~Dongtan Station (new)~Sejong Complex~SejongTR~YuseongTR.
The intercity bus can be accessed right in front of Dongtan Station, linking it with the Seoul Metropolitan Area Express Train (GTX) Line A. For example, residents of southern Seoul and the Seongnam·Yongin areas commuting to Sejong·Daejeon can take GTX-A to Dongtan Station and then board the intercity bus at the bus stop right in front.
The vehicle is a 28-seat premium bus, operated with all seats reserved. Online advance reservations will be available starting from the 27th.
Um Jeong-hee, Director of the Transportation and Logistics Office at the Ministry of Land, said, "Through the operation of intercity buses between Dongtan and Sejong·Daejeon, we will continuously explore integrated transportation services linking rail and bus. Through this, we aim to revitalize public transportation and minimize blind spots in commuting transportation."
