A man in his 30s was arrested on charges of strangling his mother to death.
On the 24th, the Dongjak Police Station in Seoul announced that an arrest warrant had been issued for Mr. A, who is accused of killing a direct ascendant.
Mr. A is suspected of strangling his mother, Ms. B, to death at an apartment in Sangdo-dong, Dongjak-gu, Seoul, at around 2:20 a.m. on the 21st.
The police responded to a report from Ms. B. She received cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) at the scene and was transported to a hospital but ultimately passed away.
Investigations revealed that Mr. A had been suffering from depression.
A police official stated, "We applied for an arrest warrant on the 22nd, and due to concerns about flight risk, the warrant was issued."
