On-Campus Research and Collaboration Between Corporate Practitioners and University Experts
The LINC3.0 Project Group at Dong-Eui University (headed by Lee Imgeon) awarded certificates to participating companies in the Lab Rental program and signed agreements for fostering industry-academia-research talent at a meeting held in the main building’s second-floor conference room on the 21st.
On this day, Dong-Eui University presented certificates of selection as Lab Rental participating companies to three firms: Bytesize Co., Ltd., Ajinextek Co., Ltd., and Christine Company Co., Ltd. The university and these companies agreed to mutually cooperate in nurturing outstanding talent and revitalizing related industries.
The Dong-Eui University Lab Rental program is an industry-academia collaboration project in which company professionals reside at the university lab and develop technologies using specialized equipment together with experts (professors). Through this, companies enhance their technological innovation capabilities, while the university achieves outcomes such as talent development and technology transfer.
Bytesize Co., Ltd., participating in this Lab Rental, has about 20 employees stationed on the 8th floor of the university library building and is working with the Image Deep Learning Lab (Professor Kwon Soongak, Department of Computer Software Engineering) on “Analysis of Shoe Design and New Product Development Using Big Data.”
Ajinextek Co., Ltd. has established a Device R&D Center within Dong-Eui University and is collaborating with the Automation Lab (Professor Ok Seungho, Department of Robotics and Automation Engineering) on the “Development of a Deep Neural Network Accelerator Prototype,” with five master’s and nine bachelor’s students participating in the project.
Christine Company Co., Ltd., which has entered a growth trajectory after being selected for Scale-up TIPS by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, is collaborating with the Human-Computer Interaction, Data Visualization Lab (Professor Kim Sunghee, Department of Industrial ICT Engineering). Two company employees are stationed at the university center, responsible for developing and operating the company’s core resource, an “AI-based Shoe Manufacturing Platform.”
Director Lee Imgeon emphasized, “Through more proactive industry-academia-research collaboration activities like Lab Rental, we will enhance the capabilities and value of Dong-Eui University and local companies, and establish a virtuous cycle of industrial revitalization and talent development.”
The Dong-Eui University LINC3.0 Project Group is holding a certificate presentation and agreement ceremony for companies participating in lab rental, and taking a commemorative photo.
