A middle school student used his quick thinking to save a man who collapsed due to hypoglycemia.

According to a News1 report on the 22nd, on the 17th, Song Minjae (15), a third-year student at Seongri Middle School in Namdong-gu, Incheon, visited the Daejeon World Cup Stadium to watch the K-League soccer match between Daejeon Hana Citizen and Incheon United.

After the first half ended and during the break, Song stopped by a convenience store to buy some items. At that moment, he witnessed a man, Mr. A, who was standing right behind him, suddenly kneel down and collapse.

Song immediately shook Mr. A’s shoulder to check his condition. Then, he tore open a snack displayed on the shelf and put it into his mouth.

Thanks to Song’s quick emergency response, Mr. A regained consciousness. After leaving the convenience store, Mr. A sat on the stairs and rested for about 10 minutes before moving on.

Mr. A expressed his gratitude to Song, saying, "I usually have hypoglycemia, but it seems I briefly lost consciousness due to dehydration caused by the hot weather."

Song explained, "When Mr. A collapsed, I heard him say, ‘Put something sweet in my mouth.’ In the urgent situation, I just put the snack I saw right in front of me into his mouth." He added, "Thanks to the first aid training I received at school, I was able to help someone at the stadium."
