Demanded 500 Taiwan Dollars (Approx. 20,000 KRW) for Sexual Relations
Taiwan Court Approves Divorce, Saying "Reconciliation Impossible"
A story has emerged about a man who filed for divorce against his wife after she demanded money in exchange for sexual relations.
Recently, the Thai media outlet Sanook reported, "The Taiwanese court ruled in favor of Mr. Hao in the divorce lawsuit he filed against his wife." Mr. Hao decided to divorce after his wife said she would not have sexual relations unless she was paid.
The couple married in 2014 and had two children. According to Mr. Hao, his wife showed a negative attitude toward sexual relations starting in 2017, limiting it to once a month. From 2019, she completely forbade sexual relations.
One day, Mr. Hao discovered that his wife had been belittling him to relatives, saying things like "He is too fat" and "Our sex life is lacking." At that time, he decided to divorce, but his wife desperately held on, and they continued their marriage.
After that, whenever Mr. Hao wanted sexual relations, his wife charged him 500 Taiwanese dollars (about 20,000 Korean won). Later, she even began charging fees for conversations.
Feeling he could no longer endure this, Mr. Hao filed for divorce this year. The court judged their relationship as "irreparable" and approved the divorce. The wife appealed the ruling but was ultimately dismissed.
Local netizens reacted to the story with comments such as, "Why would a couple charge money between each other?", "Charging money even for wanting to talk? That's ridiculous," "He should have divorced when he found out she was insulting him," "Saying it's because he's fat must have been very hurtful," and "What a strange wife."
