Hapcheon County Conducts 2024 Eulji Exercise Field Training

Comprehensive Bomb Terror Response Drill at Hapcheon Gymnasium

Hapcheon County, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 22nd that a real-world Ulchi Exercise 2024 was conducted at the Hapcheon Gymnasium, with over 210 participants from nine organizations and groups, including County Mayor Kim Yuncheol, County Council Chairman Jeong Bonghun, Police Chief Kwon Changhyeon, Fire Chief Park Yujin, and Battalion Commander Park Jeongi of the 4th Battalion of the 5870th Unit.


This live exercise was carried out under the scenario that a terrorist had planted explosives at the Hapcheon Gymnasium, a facility frequently used by residents, resulting in the destruction of the building and casualties, causing extreme unrest among the public.

The purpose of the exercise was to strengthen rapid response capabilities by establishing a close cooperation system with related agencies in preparation for enemy attacks on public facilities.


The joint drill, conducted by related agencies and organizations, mobilized 15 types of equipment, including fire ladder trucks, pump trucks, and search drones, making the exercise highly realistic. The active participation of the trainees was met with enthusiastic applause from attending officials and residents.


In addition, there was a session for observers to learn how to respond in emergencies, including demonstrations of military gas mask usage and CPR by the fire department.


In his remarks, Hapcheon County Mayor Kim Yuncheol said, "I would like to thank all the related agencies and officials who actively participated in the exercise. I ask that you continue to do your best to further strengthen the cooperation system among the public, government, military, police, and fire departments so that we can protect the lives and property of our residents."
