Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced on the 21st that 112,075 seats were sold during the two-day priority reservation period for transportation-vulnerable passengers for this year's Chuseok train tickets, which is 1.5 times more than the 76,115 tickets sold during last year's Chuseok.
KORAIL attributed the increase in reservations for transportation-vulnerable passengers to expanding priority seats to 20% of total seats, doubling from last year's Chuseok, and extending the reservation period from one day to two days. Reserved tickets must be paid for by midnight on the 28th.
Tickets not paid for within the period will be automatically canceled and allocated to those on the waiting list. If tickets were reserved by phone, payment can also be made by phone through the railway customer center representatives. It is also possible to make on-site payments at railway station counters by presenting identification.
Tickets can be collected by visiting the station ticket office before the train departure with valid identification (resident registration card, disability registration card, or national merit certificate).
KORAIL is conducting advance reservations for Chuseok train tickets for the entire public over two days starting today. Remaining seats can be purchased as usual from 3 PM on the 22nd at railway station counters, automatic ticket machines, KORAIL’s website, and the mobile app 'KORAILTalk'.
