A man in his 20s followed a woman walking down the street and assaulted her in an elevator.

The Gyeonggi Paju Police Department announced on the 21st that they had arrested a man in his 20s, Mr. A, on suspicion of attempted murder. On the afternoon of the 19th, Mr. A followed a woman in her 40s, Ms. B, in Yadang-dong, Paju City, and entered an apartment elevator with her. He took out an aluminum baseball bat from his bag and swung it at Ms. B.

Ms. B barely escaped from the elevator and reported the incident to the police. Mr. A was caught at the scene and arrested on the spot. Ms. B sustained injuries to her head and arms, received treatment at a hospital, and was discharged. It was reported that her life is not in danger.

The police have currently applied for an arrest warrant for Mr. A.
