From the 26th, Three Transfers Allowed on BRT, City Buses, and Urban Railways
The Chungcheong region is becoming more closely connected as a single transportation living zone.
The Daejeon Metropolitan City Government announced that, together with the Multifunctional Administrative City Construction Agency, Sejong City, Cheongju in North Chungcheong Province, and Gongju in South Chungcheong Province, they have established an integrated transfer fare system to improve the metropolitan transportation network, which will be officially implemented starting from the 26th.
Accordingly, from the 26th, the public transportation transfer discount, which was previously applied only between Daejeon and Sejong, will be expanded to include Cheongju and Gongju. Passengers can transfer up to three times when using BRT (Bus Rapid Transit), city buses, and urban railways.
Additionally, the B2 route, which operates between Sejong and Banseok Station in Daejeon, will be extended to Jangdae Samgeori in Yuseong-gu in the first half of next year. The BRT central station at Dungok Interchange in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, will be installed on the B1 route by the end of February next year. The metropolitan BRT between Sejong and Gongju is also scheduled to begin construction in the second half of this year, aiming to start operations next year.
An official from Daejeon City said, "With the establishment of this integrated transfer fare system, we expect not only to reduce transportation costs for citizens but also to strengthen accessibility between cities in the Chungcheong region and further promote the use of public transportation."
