Window Air Conditioner Sales Grow 2.5 Times Compared to Last Year
First Release of Electric Fans This Year Also Sold Out with 20,000 Units
Gidulami achieved remarkable success in the cooling appliance market this summer due to the heatwave. Although Gidulami had been regarded solely as a boiler company, it expanded its product lineup this year by consecutively launching new home cooling appliances that showcase advanced technology.
On the 21st, Gidulami announced that sales of window-type air conditioners grew 2.5 times compared to last year. Gidulami first launched its window-type air conditioner in 2020, and it gained popularity by selling 10,000 units within a month of release. Sales have been increasing every year, and this year, the heatwave contributed to a noticeable growth trend.
In particular, Gidulami introduces improved new products annually, and this year, it focused on enhancing cooling efficiency and dehumidification functions considering the hot and humid weather. Compared to previous models, the dehumidification performance was increased by up to 75%, removing up to 40 liters of indoor moisture per day when the dehumidification mode is activated. A Gidulami Boiler official explained, “As Korea’s summer climate shifts to a hot and humid subtropical climate, we upgraded not only the cooling performance of the window-type air conditioner but also its dehumidification function.”
Resolving the noise issue, one of the obstacles when purchasing window-type air conditioners, also contributed to positive market reception. Gidulami applied a low-noise dual inverter compressor that operates efficiently according to indoor temperature, achieving energy efficiency grade 1, and during sleep mode, it operates at a minimum noise level of 33 dB, which is quieter than a library. When the newly added eco mode is activated, it quickly lowers the indoor temperature and then gradually adjusts the wind strength over 8 hours, saving about 60% energy compared to normal mode. Additionally, convenience was enhanced to allow easy self-installation for single-room apartments, officetels, and small offices. Handle-type screws are applied to fixed parts such as the stand, enabling installation by hand without separate tools. Considering that it is a window-type unit, a motion detection function was also applied to check for external intrusion and respond promptly.
The fans launched for the first time this year also sold out all prepared stock. Gidulami explained that it released three types of multi-purpose small home fans this year, selling about 20,000 units. Gidulami fans include the wireless LED tornado folding fan, wireless Objet slim-fit fan, and wireless Objet circulator, characterized by large-capacity batteries and low power consumption, allowing long usage on a single charge. The wireless LED tornado folding fan can be used for up to 12 hours, the wireless Objet slim-fit fan for up to 4 hours and 30 minutes, and the wireless Objet circulator for up to 10 hours. They adopt USB-C type charging ports, offering high compatibility and fast charging speeds. The wireless design also allows portability for outdoor activities as well as indoor use, which was highlighted as an advantage. A Gidulami official said, “The three newly introduced small wireless fans are lightweight and slim-sized, making them convenient to use anywhere from narrow indoor spaces to outdoor outings and campsites,” adding, “They received a good response as the hot weather continued this year.”
