Live European Classical Music Performance at Bucheon City Hall Lawn Square

Bucheon Art Center September 7 Park Concert - Classic On Air

Bucheon Art Center (BAC) announced on the 20th that it will hold 'BAC Park Concert - Classic On Air,' where audiences can watch live European classical performances on video, at the lawn square in front of Bucheon City Hall on September 7.

The video of the '2024 Munich Odeonsplatz Concert,' which was successfully held in Munich, Germany, last July, will be screened on the large electronic billboard on the outer wall of Bucheon Art Center.

The 'Munich Odeonsplatz Concert' is Munich's representative classical festival held annually against the backdrop of Germany's beautiful architecture. This year's 'Munich Odeonsplatz Concert' featured classical pieces by Weber and Dukas, as well as film music by John Williams, including 'Harry Potter' and 'Sabrina.' The Munich Philharmonic, conducted by Lahav Shani and featuring the "Violin Empress" Anne-Sophie Mutter, who has a special relationship with John Williams, performed together. Shani will serve as the principal conductor of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra starting from the 2026?2027 season. This is the first time the 'Munich Odeonsplatz Concert' is being broadcast in Korea through video at the Bucheon Art Center Park Concert.

Bucheon Art Center stated that it will provide a large electronic billboard-centered setup with mat zones, bean bags, and camping chairs so that citizens can comfortably enjoy the outdoor concert for free. Mats that can comfortably accommodate families of four will be available for free rental.

For a concert for the whole family, audience participation events such as the 'DID Surprise Quiz Event' and the 'BAC Park Concert Photo Contest' will be held, along with small prizes. Additionally, in collaboration with the Bucheon Sangdong Public Library, a 'Music Flowing Book Picnic' will be organized. From 2 PM until the performance starts at 7 PM, about 1,000 books will be freely available on the lawn. There will also be a librarian-recommended book section titled 'Anyway Reading' and a corner featuring books recommended on the theme of classical music.
