Kwack made these remarks during a 'CEO Speech' held at SK Hynix's Icheon Campus in Icheon City, Gyeonggi Province, on the morning of the same day.

The CEO Speech is part of the knowledge management platform 'Icheon Forum 2024,' which SK Group is conducting over three days starting the day before, with events held by each affiliate.

Kwack delivered a speech under the theme "Talking about SK Hynix's Growth DNA." His remarks are interpreted to mean that while SK Hynix's position is expected to remain solid thanks to high-bandwidth memory (HBM), the company should not become complacent or lose its vigilance.

Earlier, during an employee communication event on the 7th, Kwack also said, "Memory demand is expected to remain firm until early next year, and after that, we will need to monitor the situation."

Additionally, Kwack credited the employees for the leadership in the AI semiconductor market, including HBM, and the achievement of strong performance. "As a pioneer in AI semiconductors, SK Hynix leading the market is thanks to all members working as one team," he said.

SK Hynix, which posted a loss of 7.7303 trillion won last year due to the 'semiconductor cold wave,' recorded sales of 16.4233 trillion won and an operating profit of 5.4685 trillion won in the second quarter of this year. This is the third-highest quarterly operating profit since 2018, the peak period of the semiconductor boom.

Kwack also emphasized the group's unique management system, SKMS (SK Management System). SKMS is SK's management philosophy first established in 1979 by the late founder Chey Jong-hyun. It has been repeatedly revised and refined over the past 45 years to adapt to changes in the business environment.

Kwack said, "SKMS is already ingrained in the way we work, which helped us overcome crises such as the downturn in the semiconductor market and the fire at the China Wuxi plant," and urged, "Let's continue to navigate well based on SKMS."
