Private Emergency Personnel Deployed to Prevent Safety Accidents
Passengers experiencing abnormal symptoms occurred on a crowded subway during the morning rush hour.
According to Yonhap News on the 20th, citing the Gimpo Gold Line, "Around 8:05 a.m. that day, a man in his 20s, Mr. A, showed vomiting symptoms on the platform at Gimpo Airport Station on the Gimpo Gold Line in Gangseo-gu, Seoul." It was confirmed that Mr. A felt dizziness and nausea on the train heading from Gochon Station to Gimpo Airport Station and sat down after getting off.
Also, at 7:58 a.m. the same day, a woman in her 30s, Ms. B, who got off at Gimpo Airport Station, received emergency treatment for vomiting and dizziness. According to passengers, medical staff examined the vomiting patient, and as usual, the congestion level of the Gimpo Gold Line train was severe.
Currently, the Gimpo Gold Line is deploying private emergency personnel at the terminal station, Gimpo Airport Station, to prevent safety accidents caused by passenger overcrowding during rush hours. On this day as well, emergency responders were dispatched to the scene to check the patients' condition and help them stabilize.
A Gimpo Gold Line official stated, "Both passengers rested for 15 minutes at the scene and were not transported to the hospital." Meanwhile, the Gimpo Gold Line ranked first in congestion among metropolitan subway lines in the 2023 Railway Statistical Yearbook provided by Seoul Metro.
