Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun "Will Expand Digital Access Opportunities for All Citizens"
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 20th that it signed a business agreement with the Digital Literacy Association on the 19th to improve the digital literacy of Hwaseong citizens.

Through this agreement, both organizations will ▲ exchange information and provide support to strengthen digital and artificial intelligence (AI) literacy ▲ plan and operate related educational programs ▲ promote a healthy digital usage culture ▲ mutually cooperate in various projects each organization is undertaking.
With this agreement, the city plans to be selected as the main institution to operate training for the "Visiting School Training Support Project" promoted by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, as well as lay the groundwork to become an AI-centered city ahead of the launch of the special city status in January next year.
Jung Myung-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong, stated, "We will expand digital literacy education to all Hwaseong citizens to increase digital access opportunities," and added, "We will actively promote the launch of Hwaseong Special City as an AI-centered city."
Park Il-jun, President of the Digital Literacy Association, also said, "More important than developing AI is citizens utilizing AI," and added, "We will actively support all Hwaseong citizens to conveniently use AI."
Earlier, Hwaseong City established the "AI Strategy Division," the first among all basic local governments nationwide, through an organizational restructuring in April, and last month formed a task force to discover AI projects in earnest.
