The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced the recruitment of a new president on the 20th. The application period is until midnight on the 26th.
KOTRA is a public enterprise that supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies in entering overseas markets, attracting foreign investment, and creating global jobs. The term for the professional executive is three years.
The KOTRA Executive Recommendation Committee evaluates candidates through document screening and interviews, assessing qualifications and abilities, expertise and management experience, vision presentation and organizational management skills, as well as character and virtues.
Among the candidates for the new president of KOTRA is Kang Kyung-sung, former 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. Kang, who entered public service in 1993 through the 29th Technical Examination, is regarded as an energy policy expert with over 30 years of experience at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. When the Yoon Seok-yeol administration launched in May 2022, Kang was appointed as the Secretary for Industrial Policy and carried out national tasks related to nuclear power and others. He was appointed as the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry in May last year and served as the 1st Vice Minister from January this year until early this month.
