Beauty platform company CTK announced on the 20th that its subsidiary CTK Bio Canada will supply its self-developed eco-friendly products to NASCAR, a representative sports event in the United States.
Since April, CTK Bio has signed a supply contract with the Charlotte Tourism Authority in North Carolina, USA, and provided eco-friendly disposable products. Building on its business achievements with U.S. public institutions, it has signed a new supply contract with NASCAR. CTK Bio products will be supplied at races held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Charlotte.
NASCAR, which hosts 36 Cup Series races nationwide and attracts about 100,000 spectators per race, will supply CTK Bio disposable paper cup products step-by-step starting from the most popular events such as the Bank of America Roval 400 Cup and the Coca-Cola 600 Cup. The company plans to expand its supply to various disposable items targeting approximately 35 million visitors annually attending NASCAR venues.
The paper cups previously used in NASCAR contained about 7-10% plastic. CTK Bio’s products have the advantage of containing no plastic components at all, while being suitable for various uses regardless of the contents, including hot or cold beverages and alcoholic drinks.
JK Park, CEO of CTK Bio, said, "It is significant that our eco-friendly technology, which biodegrades within months in nature, has been recognized and that CTK Bio products are being supplied to a globally prestigious sports platform." He added, "Through collaboration with NASCAR, we aim to set a new standard for sustainable sports events and plan to rapidly expand supply to various other sports fields in the future."
