Applications Accepted by Geumcheon Future Scholarship Foundation from August 22 to September 5
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that the Geumcheon Future Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Park Junsik) will select scholarship students for 2024 targeting elementary, middle, and high school students residing in Geumcheon-gu (or out-of-school youth of the same age group).
Scholarship students will be selected in two categories: the 18th Regular Scholarship Students and the 7th "Challenge! Global Exploration Team."
The regular scholarship students will be selected in seven categories: ▲Academic Excellence ▲Academic Improvement ▲Special Talent (individual, group) ▲Good Deeds ▲Multicultural ▲Self-directed Dream Fulfillment ▲Challenge! Dream Wings (contest type), totaling 77 students.
Selected scholarship students will receive scholarships ranging from 1 million to 1.5 million KRW per person, totaling approximately 118 million KRW.
The "Challenge! Global Exploration Team" is an overseas training program designed to help youth gain diverse international experience and grow as future leaders.
Selected students can receive up to 4.5 million KRW per person to cover participation costs. Two categories will be selected, totaling 21 students: ▲Participation in the United Nations International School Conference in New York ▲Career, Culture, and History Exploration (Singapore International City).
Additionally, the scholarship foundation has newly established the "Challenge! Dream Wings" (contest type) scholarship category to select students who need financial support for talent development. Students wishing to develop talents in various fields such as webtoon artists, YouTube creators, coding developers, robotics engineers, composers, etc., can apply by submitting a talent development plan.
The application period is from August 22 to September 5. Applicants must complete the application form and submit the required documents for each category to the Geumcheon Future Scholarship Foundation office located on the basement level 1 of the district office. Application forms can be downloaded from the Geumcheon-gu Office website under "Notices" or the scholarship foundation website under "Recruitment Announcements."
Established in November 2007, the Geumcheon Future Scholarship Foundation is a scholarship foundation established and operated by Geumcheon-gu to foster local talent and promote educational development. Since 2008, it has awarded scholarships totaling approximately 2.3 billion KRW to 1,718 students.
Park Junsik, Chairman of the Geumcheon Future Scholarship Foundation, stated, "We will support Geumcheon-gu youth who strive for their careers and dreams to grow into outstanding talents through various scholarship programs."
