Assault Controversy on the 28th of Last Month
Rapper San E, who caused controversy for assaulting a passerby, has been booked by the police on charges of special assault.
On the 19th, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul announced that rapper San E (real name Jung San, 39) was booked on charges of special assault on the 17th. Jung is accused of assaulting a passerby using a mobile phone and other means around 8:30 p.m. on the 28th of last month at the entrance of a park in Mapo-gu, Seoul, after telling the person to "ride your bicycle properly."
The police, who responded to the report at the time, completed a preliminary investigation at the scene and then sent both Jung and the victim on their way. Later, after summoning Jung for an investigation, the police found grounds for charges and officially booked him on the 17th, conducting a formal investigation.
Rapper San E was signed by a famous entertainment company in 2008 and released his debut song in 2010. Since then, he has been active as a producer on the popular audition program "Show Me the Money."
