OmniCNS and Sungkyunkwan University Collaborate on AI Convergence Technology Research for Mental Health Promotion

As the global mental healthcare market advances, mental tech company Omni C&S is accelerating its market responsiveness by applying artificial intelligence (AI) technology to early predict mental health issues and entering the customized brain training sector.


On the 19th, Omni C&S announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for joint research and development of AI convergence technology with the Artificial Intelligence & Data Science Laboratory at Sungkyunkwan University.


Through this MOU, both parties plan to strengthen comprehensive cooperation including ▲joint research and development of AI convergence technology for early prediction and improvement of mental health issues ▲joint commercialization using research and development outcomes ▲and reinforcement of industry-academia cooperation systems through talent exchange.


Omni C&S plans to focus on developing and commercializing AI solutions that provide personalized training by early predicting mental health problems. The company intends to enhance competitiveness by applying AI technology to big data accumulated over many years, such as brain waves and pulse waves.


In particular, since collaboration on technology and talent exchange with the Sungkyunkwan University research team, which possesses differentiated R&D capabilities in the mental health AI field, has become possible, it is expected that the company will accelerate its approach to the AI mental care market with various solutions tailored to advanced demands.


A company representative said, "From chatbots to psychological counseling and personalized consultations, AI is increasingly permeating daily life, and the key topics in the mental healthcare market are advancing toward AI convergence and brain training. Through the cooperation between Omni C&S’s mental care solutions and Sungkyunkwan University’s AI convergence technology, we will present an upgraded personalized AI mental healthcare solution."


They added, "As the demand for personalized mental healthcare related to psychology and personality among modern people expands, we will flexibly respond to market demand through the development and commercialization of various AI-integrated solutions."


Meanwhile, synergy in the brain training sector of the mental healthcare solution business is also anticipated. On the 9th, Omni C&S signed an MOU with the Brain Trainer Association, the official council of the 'Brain Trainer'?the only nationally certified qualification in the brain training field in Korea?to promote and activate OmniFit in the brain training sector. Through this MOU, Omni C&S is expanding collaboration in areas such as brain function and characteristic evaluation using OmniFit, development and supply of brain training programs, and joint business model development.
