Applicants must submit their CSAT application in person. However, exceptions allowing proxy submission by immediate family members are permitted for persons with disabilities, inmates, military personnel, hospitalized patients, overseas residents as of the application date, and other unavoidable cases recognized by the provincial superintendent of education.
High school seniors currently enrolled will submit their applications collectively through their schools, while high school graduates must apply through their alma mater.
Among high school graduates, if the jurisdictional test district of the current resident registration address differs from that of the alma mater, or if both addresses fall within the same test district but belong to different administrative areas (applicable only to cities and counties within provinces), applications can also be submitted at the education support office of the test district corresponding to the current resident registration address.
Those who have passed the high school equivalency exam or have other recognized academic qualifications may apply at the education support office of the test district corresponding to their current resident registration address. Long-term hospitalized patients, military personnel, inmates, and others recognized for special reasons may apply at the education support office of their alma mater, current resident registration address, or actual residence.
High school graduates from Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and those with resident registration addresses in Jeju who are preparing for the exam outside Jeju may submit their applications at a separate reception desk set up at the Seongdong-Gwangjin Education Support Office in Seoul on the 5th and 6th of next month.
All applicants must prepare a photo ID and two passport-sized photos. The application fee is 37,000 KRW for up to four selected test areas, 42,000 KRW for five areas, and 47,000 KRW for six areas. Applicants who qualify as recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security, legally designated low-income groups, or single-parent family support as of the application date may apply for a fee waiver by submitting relevant supporting documents.
