AI and Big Data-Based Legal and Regulatory Education and 1:1 Consulting for Experts and Companies to Be Held on the 20th
Nam-pyo Hong, the Mayor of Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, stated, "We plan to concentrate the manufacturing capabilities of AI and big data-based medical bio devices in Changwon."
Changwon Special City explained that the global medical bio device industry has been continuously growing and is expected to maintain steady growth. By combining the strengths of the region as a precision machinery industrial city with medical bio technology, the city is focusing on fostering the advanced medical bio device manufacturing industry based on AI and big data. To this end, they are directly supporting innovative companies with R&D, product advancement, GMP facilities, as well as providing concentrated support for full-cycle licensing, IRB (Institutional Review Board), and clinical trials.
Since the medical bio industry, which is related to life, involves professional and complex procedures such as clinical trials and licensing from securing advanced technology to product verification and production, continuous education on medical device industry laws and regulations as well as one-on-one customized consulting for companies is necessary. Accordingly, on the 20th, a medical device law and regulation education and one-on-one consulting session will be held at the Changwon Convention Center (6th floor banquet hall).
More than 50 participants from local medical bio companies and others are expected to attend this event. The speakers include Jonghee Lee, Team Leader of Usability Evaluation at Seoul National University Hospital for clinical and usability fields; Youngcheol Seo, Principal Researcher at Korea Testing Laboratory for testing and inspection; Jongseol Baek, CEO of Best ENC for GMP certification; Kyunghee Lee, Team Leader of Medical Device Business at Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute for installation of shared medical bio equipment; and Yangho Song, Team Leader at Korea Smart Healthcare Association for full-cycle licensing.
Perspective view of the 'Medical Bio Advanced Device Research and Manufacturing Center' to be built within Jinhae Advanced Research Complex
Changwon Special City aims to become a hub for advanced medical bio device manufacturing, focusing on product groups such as next-generation diagnostic devices and systems based on AI and big data, as well as advanced medical robots. The city is currently promoting the industrialization of medical bio technology in collaboration with local research institutes.
By utilizing the region's infrastructure, the city is integrating medical bio technology with manufacturing technology, providing intensive support for product groups close to commercialization, and identifying and supporting products with high market potential and impact. Furthermore, by establishing an integrated support system for market entry and IP-R&D of commercialized products, Changwon plans to concentrate AI and big data-based medical bio device manufacturing capabilities in the city.
Mayor Hong stated, "By the end of this year, the AI and big data-based advanced medical bio device research and manufacturing center is scheduled to open. Using this center as a base, we will accelerate the development of the advanced medical bio industry through the establishment of research infrastructure, corporate support, and networking among related industries."
