Moon Jae-in: "Time to Unite for the Democratic Party Government... Must Reject Exclusive Behavior"

Former President Moon Jae-in emphasized on the 18th, "It is time to unite our efforts to establish a Democratic Party government again, taking pride in the national achievements accomplished together with the people."

In a video congratulatory message sent to the 1st Regular National Party Members' Convention of the Democratic Party of Korea held at the KSPO Dome in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul, in the afternoon, former President Moon said, "Let us not remain at the current level of support but expand the party to be broadly supported across generations and evenly throughout the country."

He added, "Which side we took in the party competition is not important in the face of our great mission," urging, "Let us firmly reject narrow-minded and exclusive behaviors that hinder expansion."

Former President Moon stated, "I hope everyone will renew their determination to become a Democratic Party that reflects on the path of democracy, livelihood, and peace, corrects regressive history, and gives hope to the people," emphasizing, "It is time to stand with the people again to save the Republic of Korea from the crisis of regression."

He said, "I especially find it meaningful that the party convention is held on the 15th anniversary of President Kim Dae-jung's passing," adding, "We have continuously expanded the people's support and experienced the successes of the Kim Dae-jung, Roh Moo-hyun, and Moon Jae-in administrations."

He further emphasized, "We should take pride in the national achievements the Democratic Party has accomplished together with the people," and reiterated, "Now, based on this pride, it is time to unite our efforts to establish a ‘Democratic Party government’ again."
