An active firefighter was arrested by the police for attempting to break into his ex-girlfriend's house while armed with a weapon.


The Seoul Western Police Station announced on the 16th that they have requested an arrest warrant for a man identified as A on charges including violation of the Stalking Punishment Act, trespassing, special intimidation, property damage, and drunk driving.


According to the police, A is accused of trying to enter his ex-girlfriend's house by climbing the exterior wall of a multi-family house in Eunpyeong-gu around 11 p.m. the previous day while armed with a weapon.

A reportedly committed the act after the victim refused to open the door.


Police investigations revealed that A drove approximately 40 km to the crime scene while intoxicated. At the time of arrest, A's blood alcohol concentration was 0.065%, which is at the license suspension level.


The police are currently investigating the specific motives behind the crime.
