It has been revealed that a cafe in Ganghwa Island, Incheon, sold bread to a foreigner that was three weeks past its expiration date, drawing criticism from netizens.
On the 15th, travel YouTuber ‘Nick K’ uploaded a video of his bicycle trip around Ganghwa County on his YouTube channel. The video shows Nick sitting at a table eating a raspberry mammoth bread he purchased at the cafe.
However, after taking a bite of the bread, Nick immediately frowned. He said, "This is not a place that sells freshly made bread," and criticized, "This is a mess. It's the worst I've eaten in Korea so far." The bread in the video appears dry on the outside, and the cream is dripping down like water.

In the end, Nick left the bread uneaten on the table and showed the bread packaging to the camera. The packaging indicated an expiration date of ‘2024. 7. 15’. Nick purchased the bread on August 5, revealing that it was three weeks past its expiration date.
Netizens who watched the video expressed their anger in the comments, saying things like "This is a disgrace to the country," "No wonder they criticize other countries," "The attitude of thinking foreigners won’t notice and treating them badly," "The hygiene of the store is obviously poor," "If you find something like this, you should report it to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety immediately," "Ganghwa County Office should crack down," "There is no conscience like that," and "People like that ruin Korea’s image."
