Booked on Charges of Obstruction of Official Duties
An on-duty police officer who was intoxicated assaulted three other officers who were helping him get home and was arrested on the spot.
On the 16th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that Officer A, affiliated with the Gangnam Station, is under investigation for obstruction of official duties.
Officer A is accused of assaulting a police officer, including slapping him, at a police substation in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, around 11:20 PM on the 14th.
At the time, police responded to a taxi driver's report that "Officer A was extremely intoxicated" and escorted Officer A to the substation voluntarily.
The police have placed Officer A on administrative leave and will continue to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident.
