Seoul Facilities Corporation, Disabled Call Taxi Usage Essay Contest... Applications Open Until the 23rd

Seoul Facilities Corporation (Chairman Han Guk-yeong) is holding the "2024 Seoul Disabled Call Taxi Usage Essay Contest," themed around episodes of using disabled call taxis.

This contest was planned to discover and share various experiences and stories of customers using disabled call taxis and their families, as part of the Yakja Donghaeng project promoted by the corporation.

Any citizen or family member who uses the disabled call taxi can apply, and there are no genre restrictions such as poems or short stories. Applications can be submitted by downloading the application form from the notice section on the Seoul Disabled Call Taxi website, filling it out, and emailing it to the corporation's contact person by the 23rd of this month. Each applicant may submit only one entry, and the length should be within 2 A4 pages (approximately 20 manuscript sheets of 200 characters each).

The winning entries will be announced at the end of September. A total of eight winners will be selected: one grand prize winner (500,000 KRW), two excellence prize winners (300,000 KRW each), and five encouragement prize winners (100,000 KRW each). Winners will also be given priority boarding opportunities when using Seoul's "Disabled Outing Companion Service." For more details, please refer to the Seoul Disabled Call Taxi website.

Meanwhile, the corporation announced that the number of users of the "Disabled Outing Companion Service" recently surpassed 400, establishing itself as a reliable means of transportation for disabled people, who are transportation-vulnerable. This service has been supporting outings to desired destinations within the metropolitan area since November 2022, based on applications from disabled persons registered with Seoul Disabled Call Taxi.

Chairman Han Guk-yeong of the corporation said, "We ask for active participation and interest so that the valuable experiences of our customers can bring hope and courage to more people."
