Carelabs, a subsidiary of the KOSDAQ-listed company and the No.1 plastic surgery and procedure information platform in Korea, Babitok, is continuing its performance growth based on its stable core business.
On the 16th, Babitok announced that it recorded sales of 15 billion KRW and an operating profit of 2.8 billion KRW in the first half of this year. These figures represent increases of 22% and 17%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. In particular, operating profit has recorded profits for 34 consecutive quarters, maintaining double-digit growth in both scale and profitability.
The company cited the steadily sailing plastic surgery business as the main reason for the performance increase. Babitok, which surpassed 7 million cumulative downloads as of last year, is also growing steadily with its key performance indicator, monthly active users (MAU), reaching a record high of 310,000 as of January this year. The skin procedure business, which has been actively invested in since last year, is also showing visible results, driving stable performance alongside the existing plastic surgery sector.
Additionally, the ‘Review Campaign’ launched in June is also analyzed to have had a positive impact on sales and new member acquisition. This campaign, which presented Babitok’s core review service through relatable storylines, covered new features such as ▲Beauty Concern Filter ▲View Reviews You Are Currently Seeing and Get the Procedure Exactly ▲On-the-Spot Reviews.
Babitok stated that it plans to continuously strengthen its internal capabilities to solidify its market dominance going forward. In May, Babitok introduced the ‘Beauty Concern Filter,’ which allows users to select essential information from among 820,000 reviews, improving the convenience of using reviews. Then, in early August, it focused on various service improvements to strengthen internal capabilities, such as grouping over 10,000 registered events so users can search by their area of interest.
Based on a stable profit structure, Babitok also plans to pursue new businesses within the year. The strategy is to develop new business models that can create new growth based on Babitok’s existing human and network assets.
A Babitok representative said, “Our core plastic surgery business continues to show steady growth in both scale and profitability every year, and the skin procedure sector has also established itself as a new driving force for performance, further strengthening our growth momentum. In the second half of the year, we will strive to achieve both external growth and internal strengthening through technology development to improve user platform experience and Babitok’s unique marketing strategies.”
