Yeongdeungpo-gu Operates Psychological Support Program for Women with Infertility

Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that starting in September, it will operate the "Shall We Rest Together!" program targeting women experiencing stress from infertility treatments and pregnancy preparation.

Severe depression and stress are significant factors that hinder pregnancy, and emotional management such as psychological stability is especially important during the pregnancy preparation period. Accordingly, the district operates the psychological support program "Shall We Rest Together!" to heal the weary hearts of women preparing for pregnancy.

This program consists of ▲ "Mind Care" group counseling ▲ "Art Journey in My Heart" art psychotherapy ▲ "Spring in My Heart" horticultural healing program.

The "Mind Care" group counseling will be held every Monday from 7 PM for two hours on the 4th floor of Yeongdeungpo-gu Health Center from September 2 to October 28. Each session covers themes such as ▲ Opening the Heart ▲ Expressing My Heart ▲ Growth ▲ Moving Toward a New Life to overcome the sense of loss and pain caused by infertility together.

Also, throughout September, every Saturday from 10 AM to 12 PM, the "Art Journey in My Heart" art psychotherapy program will be conducted. Participants express their emotions through drawings with an art psychotherapy expert, helping to regulate stress and depression and enhance positive self-awareness.

Especially on September 4 at 2 PM, the "Spring in My Heart" horticultural healing program will be held at the Yeongdeungpo Garden Culture Center located in Yeongdeungpo Park, where residents will create a garden in their hands together with village gardeners to soothe their tired hearts.

Applicants for all programs will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and can make reservations through the district office's integrated reservation system on the website. Applications can also be submitted by visiting the Health Promotion Division in person, via email, or by phone.

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, "Managing depression and stress is essential during pregnancy preparation," and added, "We will continue to provide various support projects so that prospective parents can give birth to healthy children and raise them in a happy environment."
