The program is designed to honor the achievements of Hanmoe Lee Yunjae, an independence activist from Gimhae who devoted his life to the independence movement during the Japanese colonial period with the belief that “the pen is mightier than the sword.” It also aims to remind visitors of the value of Hangeul and the significance of Liberation Day.

On the first floor of the Hangeul Museum, there will be an event called “Studying Hangeul with Hanmoe Lee Yunjae,” where participants can practice writing Hangeul as featured in “Hangeul Study,” a textbook compiled for student enlightenment Hangeul classes.

In the lobby on the second floor, visitors can take part in the “Handprint Taegeukgi Made with Hopes” experience, where they will create a large Taegeukgi by stamping their handprints on a big white cloth. The completed Taegeukgi will be displayed in the museum.

Other activities include ▲Composing a Happy Hangeul Acrostic Poem ▲Making a Pinwheel Taegeukgi ▲Special Liberation Day Exhibition Tours, and more.

A city official said, “We hope that people will remember our proud local independence activist Hanmoe Lee Yunjae,” and added, “On Liberation Day, we hope visitors will take time to reflect on their gratitude and love for our country and city as they tour the Hangeul Museum, which was cherished by Lee Yunjae.”
