On the 14th, Ho Joon-seok, spokesperson for the People Power Party, met with reporters after the meeting and said, "Representative Han Dong-hoon newly recommended former lawmaker Yoo as the head of the Yeouido Research Institute," adding, "Although the recommendation of former lawmaker Yoo does not require approval or consent from other supreme council members, it needs to be resolved by the Yeouido Research Institute board and approved at the supreme council meeting."
Former lawmaker Yoo played an active role as the policy committee chair under Han Dong-hoon's emergency committee system during the last general election. As a person skilled in policies and pledges, he is evaluated as the right person to accomplish the 'Yeouido Research Institute reform' proposed by Representative Han. On the 29th, Representative Han announced plans to divide and reorganize the Yeouido Research Institute into three parts: livelihood policy development, youth political support, and others. Former lawmaker Yoo is a three-term National Assembly member who ran for the Pyeongtaek-byeong district in the 22nd general election but was defeated.
Shin Ui-jin, a former lawmaker, was appointed as the chairperson of the Central Ethics Committee. Shin is a professor at Yonsei University College of Medicine Severance Hospital and served in the 19th National Assembly as a proportional representative. Yoo Il-jun, former People’s Future Party nomination management committee chairperson, was appointed as the chairperson of the Party Affairs Audit Committee. Yoo is a former prosecutor who served as the presidential office public service discipline secretary during the Park Geun-hye administration.
Jang Seo-jung, former representative of the childcare and education platform 'Jaranda' and a member of Han Dong-hoon's emergency committee, was appointed as the head of the Public Relations Headquarters. She is an advertising and public relations expert who previously worked as a planner for advertising services at Cheil Worldwide. Song Seok-jun, a three-term lawmaker from the 'pro-Han faction,' was appointed as the chairperson of the Party Central Committee, and Kim Hwa-jin, former Jeonnam Provincial Party Committee chairperson, was appointed as the chairperson of the National Unity Committee. Additionally, appointments were made for the National Security Committee chairperson (Kang Seon-young), Digital Party Committee chairperson (Lee Jae-young), Overseas Korean Committee chairperson (Kim Seok-ki), International Committee chairperson (Kim Geon), and Committee for Accompanying the Underprivileged chairperson (Kim Mi-ae).
Regarding criticism that the personnel announced that day were mainly figures who had been active under Han Dong-hoon's emergency committee system, spokesperson Ho responded, "It is misleading to say most of them are. Former lawmaker Yoo is originally not from the Han Dong-hoon faction but is known to be from the Yoo Seung-min faction. They worked together in a public capacity and he is still not classified as part of the pro-Han faction." He continued, "Former emergency committee member Jang was not appointed due to personal connections but was recognized for her capabilities while working as a committee member. Former chairperson Yoo was also a nomination committee member and was appointed because of his expertise."
