The Changwon City Council members of the Democratic Party of Korea in Gyeongnam have called for a police investigation, alleging irregularities in the appointment of the director of the Changwon Industry Promotion Agency.
On the 14th, the Changwon City Council members of the Democratic Party held a press conference in front of Changwon Jungbu Police Station and claimed, "There are various suspicions and controversies arising in the process of hiring the new director, including allegations of pre-selection and abuse of authority."

The city council members raised suspicions regarding the following: ▲adjournment during the board of directors’ review and resolution process ▲the board’s decision of disqualification for the two candidates selected in the first recruitment round ▲the fact that Candidate A, who was suspected of being pre-selected, failed in the first round but became the final candidate in the second round ▲the fact that a candidate who was a final candidate in the first round but was disqualified by the board, was then eliminated during the document screening in the second round.
They also questioned the fact that the documents submitted by the director of the Changwon Industry Promotion Agency during the personnel hearing were recorded differently and were revised multiple times.
The council members demanded, "Given the various suspicions, the police must conduct a thorough investigation, including compulsory measures, to clearly reveal the allegations of pre-selection, abuse of authority, and irregular recruitment."
