Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 14th that it was selected as the best institution in the city and county evaluation of the 'Korea Safety Transformation Intensive Safety Inspection' conducted by Gyeonggi Province.
The inspection, conducted over two months from April 22 to June 21, is a safety check intensively carried out on facilities where disasters or other various accidents are likely to occur, as set annually by the government under the 'Disaster and Safety Management Basic Act' to prevent disasters and raise public safety awareness.
The city explained that it conducted effective inspections on 68 target sites using inspection teams composed of private experts in each field and advanced equipment such as drones and thermal cameras. In addition, through active promotion and campaigns, the city received excellent scores in five evaluation indicators: ▲effectiveness of safety inspections ▲spread of safety inspections ▲feedback on safety inspections ▲disclosure and history management of inspection results ▲contribution to policy.
Kim Bora, Mayor of Anseong City, said, "I am pleased that our efforts for citizens' safety have shown results through the intensive safety inspection evaluation," adding, "We will not be complacent with this evaluation result and will do our best to make Anseong a city where citizens can live with peace of mind."
