Pyeongtaek City, Opening of the 1st Pyeongtaek Museum University Semester

Docent Training Course Experience

Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 14th that it held the opening ceremony for the 1st Pyeongtaek Museum University on the 13th and officially began the educational program.


This course, held under the theme of 'Museum Docent (Guide) Training Experience,' will be conducted every Tuesday until November 28. With about 100 citizens participating, the course offers an overview of the history of the Pyeongtaek region from prehistoric times to modern history.

In the first lecture, Professor Lee Hyung-won from Hanshin University served as the speaker and examined prehistoric relics and artifacts found in the Pyeongtaek area. The second lecture, scheduled for next week at the Pyeongtaek City Jisan Green Library, will feature Professor Emeritus Lee Nam-gyu from Hanshin University, who will discuss the emergence of early states in the Pyeongtaek region and Baekje during the Three Kingdoms period.


Im Sang-seong, Director of the Culture and Arts Division of Pyeongtaek City, said, "This course will be a meaningful opportunity to experience a program designed to train docents who can serve as professional volunteers related to various cultural facilities promoted by Pyeongtaek City."
