At the '2024 Paris Olympics Incheon Metropolitan City Medalists Sponsorship Fund Delivery Ceremony' held at Incheon City Hall on the 13th, Incheon Mayor Yoo Jung-bok, Lee Gyu-saeng, President of the Incheon Sports Council, DK Asia CEO Jo Jae-man, Executive Director Kim Guk-hoe, and three Olympic medalists affiliated with Incheon City attended.
Jeon Hun-young, who made new history for Korean archery by winning the women's archery team event Olympic gold for the 10th consecutive time, received sponsorship funds of 100 million KRW. Jeon Eun-hye, who defeated the home country France to reach the finals and won South Korea's first-ever silver medal in the women's fencing team event, received 50 million KRW, and Jung Ye-rin, who won a miraculous bronze medal in the mixed team judo event, received 30 million KRW in sponsorship funds respectively.
Mayor Yoo Jung-bok said, "I sincerely thank the Incheon City athletes who did their best at the Paris Olympics," adding, "This achievement is the result of all the athletes working together. We expect even better results at the Los Angeles (LA) Olympics four years from now."
On this day, Mayor Yoo received a bow that set the great record of 10 consecutive wins in the women's archery team event at the Olympics. This bow is one of the two bows used by Jeon Hun-young during the Olympic competition when she won the gold medal and will be exhibited for the citizens of Incheon.
Jeon Hun-young expressed her feelings, saying, "I am very happy to have won the gold medal at the Olympics as an Incheon athlete and to donate that bow," and "I sincerely thank DK Asia for deciding to provide sponsorship."
DK Asia plans to continue supporting not only the Incheon-affiliated medalists for the 2028 Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles, USA, four years from now, but also beyond.
