Two-Step Rise from 'La' Grade in 2022 to 'Na' This Year
Osan City in Gyeonggi-do announced on the 14th that it was selected as an excellent institution by receiving a 'B' grade in the '2024 Local Public Enterprise Management Evaluation Sewerage Sector' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. This is a two-step improvement from the 'D' grade in 2022.
The sewerage sector of the local public enterprise management evaluation is conducted biennially for 95 basic sewerage institutions nationwide. The evaluation items consist of 18 detailed indicators in two areas: management and management performance. After deliberation by the Local Public Enterprise Policy Committee, the results are announced in five grades. Institutions receiving lower grades are subject to management diagnosis and management improvement orders.
The city explained that it received positive evaluations by promoting various projects such as the leadership of managers, management systems, efforts to rationalize sewerage fees, ▲ aging sewer pipeline maintenance projects ▲ public sewage treatment facility odor improvement projects ▲ establishment and expansion of public sewage treatment facilities ▲ installation of water reuse facilities.
Lee Kwon-jae, Mayor of Osan City, said, "The upgrade in this evaluation grade is the result of all employees' efforts to pursue management efficiency and improve financial soundness," adding, "We will continue to actively pursue management innovation to provide the best sewerage administrative services."
