"Subjected to Group Bullying"... Boxer Khalif Involved in 'Gender Controversy' Sues Musk, Rowling, and Others

"Subjected to Group Bullying"... Boxer Khalif Involved in 'Gender Controversy' Sues Musk, Rowling, and Others

Imane Khalif (26, Algeria), the gold medalist in boxing at the 2024 Paris Olympics, has filed lawsuits against numerous celebrities.

On the 13th (local time), foreign media reported that Khalif's legal representative submitted a complaint to the Paris Public Prosecutor's Office on the 10th, requesting an investigation into cyberbullying. Khalif's side stated, "This is to protect justice, dignity, and honor. The harassment suffered by the champion boxer is a major blemish on this Olympics." They added, "It also includes those who anonymously sent hateful messages to Khalif."

The lawsuit was filed under French law against unspecified individuals, and it is expected to include figures such as Harry Potter author Joanne Rowling and Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Algerian national boxing representative Khalif became embroiled in a gender controversy due to being a woman with XY chromosomes. In fact, she was disqualified at last year's World Championships for having testosterone levels exceeding the standard for women.

However, she was allowed to compete normally in women's boxing at the Paris Olympics. In response, Rowling criticized the situation last month, saying, "Should a female boxer suffer fatal injuries or die?" Musk also posted a message stating, "Men should not interfere in women's competitions."

Amid this controversy, Khalif won the gold medal in the women's boxing 66kg final at the 2024 Paris Olympics held on the 10th. Immediately after the match, she expressed, "I am fully qualified to participate in the Olympics. I am the same as other women. Thanks to the criticism against me, this gold medal is even more valuable."
