Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, is delivering a greeting at the opening ceremony of the relocation of the Sinnae 2-dong Book Cafe held on the 13th.
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held the relocation opening ceremony of the Sinnae 2-dong Book Cafe on the afternoon of the 13th.
The opening ceremony was held with about 30 attendees, including Jungnang-gu Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi, officials from the Jungnang Cultural Foundation, and local residents, and proceeded with a progress report, commemorative photo session, and facility tour.
The Sinnae 2-dong Book Cafe was temporarily operated on the basement first floor following the relocation of the District Office's second building in October last year, and has now moved to the newly relocated third floor. The relocated space was previously used as the Sinnae 2-dong Community Center and has a total area of 207㎡, housing approximately 5,168 books.
In particular, considering the diverse age groups of users and the high number of visitors, separate reading spaces for children and adults have been created to provide a more comfortable environment.
Jungnang-gu Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi said, "We expect the Sinnae 2-dong Book Cafe to play an important role in realizing a reading culture in Jungnang," and added, "We hope many residents enjoy reading and communication here and use it as a community space for the local society."
Currently, Jungnang-gu operates a total of 77 libraries, including public libraries, small libraries, and smart libraries. The district plans to expand libraries with the goal of having a library within a 10-minute distance from residents' homes so that they can easily use libraries in their daily lives and enjoy reading culture services.
