Frequent Visits to Anseong and Seongnam in Gyeonggi, and Jincheon in Chungbuk
On the 13th, staff from the Senior Care Department of Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province visited Cheonan City to benchmark integrated support programs and operational systems.
The city of Cheonan, Chungnam Province, is attracting continued visits from other local governments for its 'Integrated Support Pilot Project for Elderly Medical Care and Welfare.'
Since last year, the city has been selected as a pilot municipality for the integrated support project for elderly medical care and has been implementing integrated care. The project dispatches doctors, nurses, and social workers to the homes of elderly residents, providing a range of integrated medical and care services to enable seniors to continue living in their familiar surroundings. Services include home medical and rehabilitation visits, oral care, housekeeping support, nutritional support, accompaniment for outings, and home repairs.
According to a user survey conducted in April, 371 out of 440 respondents expressed satisfaction with the overall project (84.3%), and 80% of respondents hoped to continue living in their current homes.
As a result of these achievements, other local governments are visiting Cheonan to benchmark its program.
On the 13th, staff from the Elderly Care Department of Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, visited Cheonan to benchmark the integrated support program and operational system.
During the visit, Anseong officials inquired about the establishment of a dedicated organization for the integrated project, personnel management, major projects, and ways to build public-private partnership networks utilizing local community resources. They also visited a short-term residential facility for discharged patients and toured the Integrated Care Center, which is set to open in October as the hub institution for the integrated care project.
Prior to this, Jinjeon County in Chungbuk and Seongnam in Gyeonggi Province visited Cheonan to benchmark the 'Integrated Support Pilot Project for Elderly Medical Care and Welfare,' and Yeongnam County in Jeonnam is also scheduled to visit.
Building on these achievements, Cheonan plans to open the Integrated Care Center in October to provide person-centered integrated services. The Integrated Care Center will offer even more enhanced, customized services such as nursing and care for the elderly.
A Cheonan city official stated, "We are providing customized services with careful attention and consideration so that all elderly residents in Cheonan can enjoy a comfortable old age in their own homes," and added, "We will do our best to ensure that our city's project becomes a model for integrated medical and care services nationwide."
