For Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis Passenger and Small Commercial Electric Vehicles
Hyundai Motor Company and Kia will provide free inspections for electric vehicle owners nationwide.
On the 13th, Hyundai and Kia announced that they will conduct this "Electric Vehicle Safety Inspection Service." This measure was taken in response to growing customer concerns following recent electric vehicle fire incidents.
The inspection targets all electric vehicle models of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis passenger cars and small commercial vehicles. The inspection includes nine safety-related items such as insulation resistance, voltage deviation, cooling system, damage to connection cables and connectors, underbody impact/damage, and the presence of fault codes.
Customers who wish to use the service can make a reservation by selecting their preferred date and location on weekdays or Saturdays through each company's customer center, then visit the service center. Hyundai (including Genesis) customers can use the service at 22 nationwide directly operated Hi-Tech Centers and 1,234 Blue Hands locations. Kia customers can receive inspections at 18 directly operated service centers and 757 AutoQ locations nationwide.
For more details, customers can contact each company's customer center for guidance. A Hyundai and Kia representative stated, "Through this inspection, we aim to alleviate concerns about electric vehicles and support customers to drive safely."
