The author, Mr. A, wrote, "(Regarding Kim Je-deok) The day after the article came out, Chodan held back tears while playing the drums," sharing a video of Chodan performing with tears in his eyes. This post recorded over 700,000 views within 12 hours of being uploaded and received about 1,400 comments. The video in the post was reportedly filmed the day after news broke that Kim Je-deok, the 2024 Paris Olympics men's archery team gold medalist, was following Chodan's social media (SNS) account, which led to a flood of malicious comments directed at both of them.

Earlier, Kim Je-deok, who participated as a national archery representative at the Paris Olympics, pressed 'like' on a body profile photo posted by QWER member Chodan on SNS, which led to backlash from some netizens. Among these, some netizens criticized by distorting Chodan as a '벗방 BJ' (an internet broadcaster focused on adult content) and directed derogatory and hateful expressions toward Kim Je-deok. They also shared photos and videos from Chodan's past Twitch streamer days, leaving sexually insulting and derogatory comments.

As the netizens' criticism crossed the line, on the 12th, QWER's agency Three Y Corporation stated, "Since the announcement in June that we would take legal action against defamation and insult crimes involving false information against QWER members, we have received over 250 reports," adding, "After review by a law firm, we filed the first criminal complaint on June 20 for charges including insult." Health YouTuber Kim Gyeran, the producer of QWER, also shared the announcement on SNS, emphasizing, "Please report everything. There will be absolutely no leniency."

Meanwhile, QWER is a four-member girl group band that debuted last October through Kim Gyeran's project. The members are former Twitch streamer Chodan, Majenta, TikToker Hina, and Ishiyen, formerly of the Japanese girl group NMB48.
