An LG Electronics employee who promised to donate 1,000 won per subscriber kept his promise with the company's support.

On the 13th, Choi Seong-hyun, a senior staff member at LG Electronics who runs the YouTube channel 'MZ Electronics,' announced that on the 9th he donated a total of 13 million won by combining his salary with help from company executives.

Choi had previously pledged on the 4th of last month to donate 1,000 won per subscriber. At that time, the channel had only 38 subscribers, but the number exploded and exceeded 13,000 as of the 13th.

When LG Electronics learned of Choi's situation, where he needed to donate more than 10 million won, the company executives supported him with a 10 million won social contribution fund. This fund is voluntarily contributed by LG Electronics executives for domestic and international social contribution activities.

Choi said, "I did not expect the video introducing a donation kiosk that allows employees to donate easily to attract such great interest," adding, "The company helped so that a campaign started with good intentions would not become a burden on one employee."

He continued, "I believe I must take responsibility for the words I said, so I decided to donate 3 million won from my salary," and expressed his feelings, "I am proud to have ultimately donated 13 million won as a positive influence."

In June, LG Electronics installed donation kiosks to spread a culture of giving in daily life, allowing employees to easily and conveniently participate in sharing activities. The kiosk screen provides stories and usage plans for families in crisis, children suffering from food insecurity, injured firefighters, and more. Employees can donate by simply tapping their ID cards on the kiosk, with no limit on the number of donations.
