Icheon City Holds Steering Committee Meeting for 'Icheon Rice Culture Festival'

On the 12th, Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province held the Icheon Rice Culture Festival Promotion Committee meeting to review the progress of the event, the city announced on the 13th.

The committee reviewed the venue arrangement and main events of this year's Icheon Rice Culture Festival, the city explained. During the meeting, it was decided to prepare various experience programs for children and family visitors, while providing visitors with unique cultural experiences through art exhibitions and cultural performances.

Additionally, the committee announced plans to offer and introduce affordable and delicious food to visitors through mutual cooperation among the 14 eup, myeon, and dong districts at the food market. The committee also discussed plans to create a map indicating food sourced from Icheon rice, operate shuttle buses, and expand infrastructure such as restrooms.

A committee official stated, "Through the diverse programs of the Icheon Rice Culture Festival, we aim to provide an opportunity to rediscover the historical and cultural significance of Icheon rice."

Marking its 23rd year, the Icheon Rice Culture Festival is scheduled to be held for five days from October 16 to 20 at the Icheon Agricultural Theme Park.
