The Korea-France Safety Support Team conducted joint patrols with multinational police officers in downtown Paris during the Summer Olympics safety support duty, handling incidents and accidents, and providing security and protection for the athletes and venues. During the dispatch period, a total of 368 cases were handled, including 6 cases related to Korean nationals.

Earlier, the French government requested police officers from various countries in preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics. The Korean government decided to dispatch a total of 28 officers, 14 each for the Olympics and Paralympics, to Paris. Additionally, police officers were dispatched to the International Cooperation Center (ICC) of the French Ministry of the Interior and the Rapid Response Team of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The National Police Agency’s International Cooperation Officer stated, “Thanks to the Paris Olympics Safety Support Team, the Olympics, a festival for people around the world, and the safety of our nationals were protected. We will continue to ensure that wherever our nationals are, the Korean police will always be with them.”
