Choi Ho-kwon, Yeongdeungpo District Mayor, Visits Squalid Housing Areas for Heatwave Preparedness

On the morning of the 12th, Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, visited the jjokbang area to inspect cooling facilities in preparation for the heatwave.

On this day, Mayor Choi Ho-gwon patrolled the jjokbang area, thoroughly checking cooling equipment such as cooling fog and public air conditioners, and used emergency fire extinguishers to cool down the hot heat in the alleys.

He also visited two free meal centers currently operating to support stable meals for vulnerable groups: ▲Thomas's House ▲Gwangya Church, expressing gratitude and encouragement to the volunteers inside the facilities and participating in meal distribution volunteer activities.

Mayor Choi Ho-gwon stated, “In preparation for the rising temperatures day by day, we will carefully monitor various aspects to ensure that residents of the jjokbang area can safely spend the summer,” and added, “We will make every effort in inspections and support to prevent casualties from disasters such as summer floods and heatwaves.”
